Scientific Instruments | Fondazione Scienza e Tecnica (Firenze)

Description: In the large display case are located the scientific instruments of the electrostatic and electrodynamic section of the Museum. Various European instrument makers made these instruments in the second half of the Nineteenth Century. They are in very good conditions and were preserved in the same display case from several decades. In 2007 all the furniture were refurbished and painted with urethane paint.

Materials: Wood, glass, silk, lacquered brass, ebonite (hard rubber), probably Bakelite, and small parts made of other various metal.

Monitoring: Within the context of the EU funded APACHE project, our partner Fondazione Scienza e Tecnica will monitor, collect, analyse and report on environmental data collected in this large size showcase and outside it.

Protection container: Large display case made of wood and glass at the end of Nineteenth Century. Not climate controlled, not sealed.
