Collection of historical photographs

Description: Hungary’s oldest and largest collection of historical photographs collects photographic materials related to Hungarian history and the history of photography since 1859. It currently holds more than 1 million chronologically and thematically organized recordings, of which nearly 360000 are individually recorded items

Materials: Acetate film negatives, paper folders

Monitoring: Within the context of the EU funded APACHE project, the Hungarian National Museum will monitor, collect, analyse and report on environmental data collected in the storage room and this metal storage drawer enclosing photographic negatives. Environmental data include temperature, relative humidity and pollutants (formaldehyde, organic acids, NO2, SO2, O3, H2S).
