The storage rooms of Chieti State Archives

Description: The storage rooms of Chieti State Archives (city of Chieti, Abruzzo Region-central Italy) are eight rooms up two levels; the total surface is 2022 mq with the bookshelves which measure 13000 linear meters. In both level there are some windows for natural light and air. There is no climate control of the environments. The volumes are stored on shelves in open containers of cardboard and often historical photographs are associated with the documents.

Monitoring: Within the context of the EU funded APACHE project, MiBACT-SABAP Abruzzo will monitor, collect, analyse and report on environmental data collected in the storage rooms, in particular in the closed containers for the storage of documents. The data collected will include, relative humidity, temperature, and pollutants. (organic acids and so on).
